Growing or Dying?

Kevin Donka, D.C.

Hippocrates once said that all living systems are either growing or dying.  What he understood is that nothing in life ever just stays the same. It is always in the process of becoming.  The question is, what are you becoming?  You see, we are always in the process of moving either toward what we want or toward what we don't want - we never just stay in the same place.  As far as our health and our lives go, we are literally either growing or we are dying.

What I mean by this is that we are all exposed to destructive forces every day.  If these physical, chemical, mental, emotional and electrical stresses are beyond our internal resistance - that is, if we are not able to effectively ADAPT to them - they break us down and we move a little to the left - toward dying.

Now, I said that this would only happen if these stresses were beyond our internal resistance. Where does this internal resistance come from?  It comes from our Life Force, which is CONSTRUCTIVE.  This force is quite literally rebuilding us continuously!  And, it is what allows us to resist or ADAPT to all of the stresses of everyday life!

Now, this can only work if the Innate Wisdom of the body can fully COMPREHEND and RESPOND to all of the stresses in its internal and external environments.  That means there can be no interference in your nerve system.  There needs to be a clear path between your brain and your body at all times.  This is what chiropractic is really all about!  It's about making sure that your Life Force can flow without any obstructions so that you can adapt, heal and continually grow into whatever you were meant to be.

You see, the truth is that we are all growing AND dying AT THE SAME TIME!  But, one of these two processes will always predominate over the other so that your net movement is in the direction of either growing or dying.  Now look at this closely; this is the only reason anyone ever needs to go to the chiropractor - and it's the reason EVERYONE needs to go:

We are all growing and dying at the same time.  If you want to grow more than you die, you need two things; Number one, you need a healthy lifestyle - a lifestyle that actually CREATES health.  And number two; you need a clear nerve system.

That's it!  It's that simple.  Everyone has the choice to either grow a little each day or to die a little each day by actively choosing to allow life or to disallow life.  Chiropractic is simply about allowing your Life Force to flow freely as continuously as possible.

Dr. Jay Asks some important questions of interest to Tustin residents - Chiropractor Tustin Dr. Jay Asks...

Is average normal or is normal average?
Every chiropractor knows that so-called "normal" is merely an average. What's normal for you may not be normal for anyone else. So the chiropractic approach to better health is to tailor our approach to the unique needs of each of our Tustin clients.
What happens if you stop chiropractic care when you feel better?
Many Tustin folks recognize that this predisposes you to a relapse. Chiropractors know that muscles and ligaments supporting the spine don't fully heal until after symptoms subside.
